The Seki city of the Gifu prefecture in Japan is world famous for cutlery and bladesmiths, especially for the Japanese samurai sword (katana). Kai-Group was born in the midst of this 800-year-old tradition in 1908. The company has innovated this Japanese art & evolved into a global giant.
A legacy forged through tireless effort, unwavering determination, and groundbreaking ideas
Saijiro Endo started a small factory to manufacture folding knives. He worked day and night, sleeping only 3 to 4 hours a day, with only a few employees. The succeeding generation followed in their father’s footsteps and worked hard to grow their family business.
From humble beginnings emerged a journey of great impact
In 1908, Kai began as a small factory that initially manufactured only folding knives. Over the last 100 years, the company has reached new heights by innovating multiple products in hygiene and cutlery, generating sales in the millions of dollars, and establishing a global presence with 16 bases and 8 factories across 8 different countries worldwide.
